I wrote my first story at age ten, and have been in love with language ever since. I have a BA in English from Mount Allison University; the RMT stands for Registered Massage Therapist, my main career from 1992 to 2008.

As an entrepreneur I needed to learn marketing and sales, and was fascinated and delighted to discover it was all about words - precisely the right words in the right places would create the desired results. Developing websites for Masterpiece Mysterys and Mystery Factory introduced me to the brevity and control required to write for this new medium, and taught me much about what search engines need, and how they look for it.

I am blessed/cursed with a natural curiosity about most things. The great thrill in writing articles for magazines is that it gives me an excuse to talk to incredibly knowledgeable people about amazing subjects. And there is always, always a human story behind it all.

I live in the wilds of British Columbia, Canada, with a wonderful family and a wood heater.
